Talking Trinity: Hi Haven! Is this your first time being interviewed for a global publication (Talking Trinity is on our website!) or have you done interviews before?
Haven: No, Talking Trinity, never like this!
TT: You’re a senior at Topeka High. What are your favorite courses in school and why?
Haven: I enjoy my Creative Writing 2 class because I want to write for a career. I also like being a Proctor because: A.) I proctor for my favorite teacher. B.) I do nothing.
TT: What do you spend most of your time doing after school or on weekends?
Haven: Ha-ha, What are weekends? I’m busy with Dance team, THS Band, AFS club, Mandela (our school’s literacy magazine) Link Crew, Dance lessons, and Theatre.
TT: How did you first get interested in dance?
Haven: My Mom minored in Dance so naturally she introduced me to dance at a young age. I was about 4 when I started to take lessons.
TT: What are the next possible steps for you after High School?
Haven: I am looking at Colorado College in Colorado Springs and Baker University in Kansas. I plan on majoring in education and getting a minor in Creative writing.
TT: What could you see yourself doing in ten years?
Haven: I see myself as an elementary school teacher/ successful novelist/millionare! (I am going to start a restaurant that serves one very specific item. Ask me about it!)
TT: What is your earliest memory at Trinity?
Haven: Bringing my blankie, “Big Mat” to Sunday school.
