Help Feed the Hungry in Topeka!
F.E.E.Doorstep (Food Emergency Exists at Doorstep) is Trinity's program to respond to food shortages at Doorstep's Food Pantry both through regular collections and special notices. In 2011, we donated over 1800pounds of food.
Donors can help feed Topeka's hungry by placing non-perishable food and household items in the F.E.E.Doorstep box in the church lobby. Current items needed include pork and beans, tuna, canned fruit, jelly, hamburger helper, pasta, rice and dry beans. Donated items are delivered weekly to the Food Pantry. In addition, when an emergency food shortage exists at Doorstep's Food Pantry, subscribers are notified by email of the special need and can respond by placing the needed food items in the F.E.E.Doorstep box. Sign up to receive an e-newsletter about emergency shortages and a report of Trinity's deliveries to Doorstep by visiting the church website. |

Serve Dinner
At least five volunteers are needed at 5:00 PM on the second Tuesday of each month to serve a dinner prepared by the Rescue Mission staff to the homeless of Topeka. Serving is done in a "chow-line" format with each volunteer responsible for serving a food item onto a tray as it is passed down the line. Opportunities for a brief interaction are available as each client moves down the "chow-line." Volunteers also assist staff with dining room clean-up and other simple tasks afterwards. Save Coupons to Help Families in Need
Do you have unwanted coupons from the Sunday paper? If so, we have a great opportunity for you to drop those coupons off at church. Coupons are a good way to purchase many items at a lower cost. These coupons will be used to purchase such items as toothpaste and deodorant for lower income families at local schools. Please bring in your coupons and place them in the envelope on the mission bulletin board. Thanks for your support.
