Prayer Vigil Set for April 21
Matthew 5:43-45
"You have heard that it was said, `Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons and daughters of God in heaven. God causes the sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”
Mark your calendar!!! Text all of your friends!!!! The Trinity prayer vigil will start at 9 pm on Maundy Thursday, April 21, and continue through the night, ending on Good Friday, April 22, at 9:00 am. The theme for the vigil this year is “Overcoming Hate and Division.” Hate and division separate us from God and alienate us from family, friends and neighbors.
Look for….
- a sanctuary that is arranged with your prayer privacy and comfort in mind. There will be soft music and dim lighting, accentuated by candlelight.
- materials to aid you in prayer, if you so desire. Centering prayers and other structured prayers are being pepared.
- a prayer “wall” where you can post your prayers for others to read.
You can sign up to pray for 30 minutes or longer if you would like. Bring a friend and introduce another person to the powerful agent of reflection and change that prayer can be. Sign up at church starting Sunday, April 3 or call Anton Ahrens 232-2060 to reserve a prayer time.
